When designing an edge-lit LED backlight module, the performance of the backlight module can be better improved only by designing the dots on the bottom surface of the light guide plate according to the optical properties of the selected LEDs. Therefore, we need to understand the light distribution curve of the selected LEDs. . The light distribution curve refers to the light intensity distribution of the light source in all directions of space. There are three representation methods: one is the polar coordinate method, the second is the rectangular coordinate method, and the third is the equal light intensity curve.
Under normal circumstances, LEDs belong to cosine radiators. The so-called cosine radiators are luminous bodies whose luminous intensity in any direction angled with the normal direction in space is related to the luminous intensity in the center normal direction. This is also the most common form of spatial light intensity distribution of illuminants.
